Boeing 717-200
One Hundred Seat Powerhouse
<
The Boeing 717-200 was first developed by Douglas as the MD-95 to compete in the 100-seat market. When Boeing took over, the "Mad Dog" 95 was re-designated as the 717. Unfortunately, production has since ceased on this wonderful aircraft because its cockpit was so different from any other MD aircraft, even the MD-88. Even so, the airlines that still have a Mad Dog in their fleet use it to its fullest, whether its role is as a regional jet or a domestic airliner.
American Flight Airways utilizes Boeing 717 on all category 3 routes. Note that the range of the 717 isn't as great as it's larger counter parts in the Category 3 fleet.
