Welcome to the Atlanta Hub at the William B. Hartsfield International Airport! Hartsfield Airport serves as the southeastern hub of American Flight Airways operations. Flights to destinations in the US, Latin America, Europe, Oceania, and Asia originate from the Atlanta Hub. AFA flights originate out of concourses A, B, C, D, and T at Hartsfield. Hartsfield is one of the busiest airports in the world in terms of aircraft traffic and passengers. Atlanta is the home of cable TV, Coca-Cola and many Fortune 500 companies. Atlanta was AFA's 2nd largest superhub beginning operations in 1997 and continues to be a great hub for American Flight Airways.

Gentleman,
Again our HUB has come to the end of another month. I would like to thank everyone for their hard work, I hope everyone is having fun as summer creeps towards us. Overall the HUB has increased its hours of flight time with the average of flights flown staying about the same. This means everyone is flying longer flights. This is a great step towards the future..so lets keep the pace.
So with this I would like to post the stats for the month.
Stats:
Total Flights: 165 Flights
Total Flight Hours: 403.44 hours
Active pilots: 37
Inactives: 3
LOA Pilots: 6
Total pilots: 46
News and information:
APG Forums:
Gentleman please if you have not visited our forums go have a look. Its a good place to see upcoming Vatsim events being set for the APG airlines. It also has information on numerous topics and there are pilots here that will help anyone that needs it. You can reach it at http://forums.flyafa.com
So please stop by and have a look..say HI and get help or help out those pilots that could use it.
Vatsim:
If you are seeking the most realistic way to fly then this is your place to visit. The vatsim network is totally free to all and offers free programs to bring you flight sim into a real world environment. It offers a worldwide ATC to use and the staff and controllers are top notch. And they have been around for 10+ years. There is numerous forums to help a pilot with any problems that may be encountered as well. So again if you seek one the most realistic environment to add to a flight sim..visit their site at..http://www.vatsim.net/
Charter section:
The charter section is alive and well and available to all the pilots here in Atlanta. It can be reached at.. http://apg.flyafa.com/charter/
You can request any type of flights you wish and the staff is available to set it up for you to fly. Its a good way to get to those Airports not visited by the normal flights setup. As well you can visit other HUBS charter sections and get ideas and most times fly their charters unless specified for their pilots only. That doesnt happen to often though. So go fly some charters and have some fun off the beaten tracks.
Pilot of the month will be going to a pilot that is flying consistantly and is keeping a solid logbook. So please help me and congragulate Bruce Bobst (AFA2993). Well done Bruce on your second POM award...thanks.
For those of our pilots that may be interested there are staff positions that need to be filled. If interested please contact either Matt or I and we can discuss whats available and what is required.
Also I would like to bring up a few topics of concern. Our HUB has a few pilots on inactive status. I dont want this to be..so please if your inactive reach out to your staff and if we can be of help..please let us know.
Another note to pilots on LOA status. If you are past due for your return you will be receiving another letter from me. I need your status so the staff can be upto date with the most current information from you. I understand that real life comes and blindsides us at times..I have been pretty lax on return dates and granting LOA\'S so if you need it..ask. But our HUB only suffers if someone goes on Leave and does not return when stated..and sits. So please understand this and we of course will be contacting the pilots that need to address this.
In closing again thanks for everyones hard work. Welcome to the new pilots and our transfers. And lets make this next month a enjoyable one.
