Welcome to the Atlanta Hub at the William B. Hartsfield International Airport! Hartsfield Airport serves as the southeastern hub of American Flight Airways operations. Flights to destinations in the US, Latin America, Europe, Oceania, and Asia originate from the Atlanta Hub. AFA flights originate out of concourses A, B, C, D, and T at Hartsfield. Hartsfield is one of the busiest airports in the world in terms of aircraft traffic and passengers. Atlanta is the home of cable TV, Coca-Cola and many Fortune 500 companies. Atlanta was AFA's 2nd largest superhub beginning operations in 1997 and continues to be a great hub for American Flight Airways.

Gentleman,
I would like to thank everyone for a good month of flights. The HUb is above par on total number of flight hours and flew about the average for Total flights. That means everyone is flying longer flights wich is good knews. This is great for the middle of summer when other outdoor activities seem to take up so much of our times.
Also I hope everyone had a good 4th of July. I hope everyone stayed safe and ate some good food. So without further delay I will show the stats for the month.
June HUB STATS:
Total flight hours: 928.57 hours
Total flights: 291
Flown by 44 active pilots
PILOT STATS:
Active pilots: 44
Inactive pilots: 8
LOA: 5
Terminated: 2
Total: 59
News:
Forums: I wish everyone to stop by if you havent already and join the APG forums. The forums are free to join and are a very important part of the APG future. By having the input of our pilots thru these forums it helps the leaders and pilots both to improve the airline. It is a great place as well to find out the latest news of upcoming event, fleet upgrades, vatsim flyins, and numerous other activities and programs. So please come join us at http://forums.flyafa.com/
Vatsim:
Gentleman if you are seeking the most realistic and fun way to fly please take a look at the online ATC services of VATSIM. The programs are all fully supported for all version of flight simulator. The programs are free and also have complete support forums for the individual programs. There is also numerouns APG flyins and gathering throughout the week all onth long. This in itself is a great way to meet your fellow pilots and get to chat with them.
Charters:
As well your staff here in Atlanta is working to update and bring you a number of new charter flights. These flights are designed to be fun and a way to get into some of the lesser traveled airports. Or take that dream trip that you always wanted to make. Also there are some special flights that will be providing AID to disaster relief victims if the need comes. So if there is any special flights that any of our pilots wish to see please feel free to contact the KATL staff with your request. It will be processed ASAP. Also visit the charter center at http://apg.flyafa.com/ and look under the charter section for all the available charters.
POM:
OUr pilot of the month is a repeat offender. Its been a long time since I have seen a pilot take POM two months in a row. So please help me in congragulating ATP Commander Atamvir Multani. Atamvir logged a impressive numebr of both flights and hours again this month. So well done Atamvir!
Conclusion:
Again I would like to thank everyone for a good month again. I would like to bring up one thing that I need to address. This would be out inactive pilots are again on the rise. If you are not aware the rules have changed for this so please take a look at the operation manual for the updates. This is a must for you to keep up with as things are changing constantly. So please be aware to read the ops manual every so often to ekkp abreast of the new situations that may arise. Also if you have a good reason to be absent then please contact the ATL staff and discuss it with us. There is a Leave of abscence program that can be used for this. If we as your staff dont know of it..we can not help you. I dont want to loose any pilots..so please contact us.
Signed:

Bi-Weekly Report
Posted by
Michael Moon on June 15, 2010 at 4:58 PM MDT
Hello, Atlanta! We’ve decided to start posting a bi-weekly update, which will contain news, events, and items of interest to the pilots of the Atlanta Hub. For this first update, I want to welcome six new pilots to the Hub:
Tommy Hosteng (AFA2977)
Aaron Brooks (AFA2976)
Matthew LeVart (AFA2975)
Dylan Brathwaite (AFA2996)
Aaron Bolt (AFA2972)
Schuyler Morales (AFA2971)
Gentlemen, welcome to the Atlanta Hub!! Some of you have already started flying, while others have yet to take that first flight. If any of you need anything, feel free to contact me or any member of the Atlanta staff listed at the top of this page.
We’ve got more new charters available, and don’t forget you can request a charter that you want too. Be sure to check out the Charter Center!
I encourage you all to take your virtual airline experience to the next level by not just making the flights, but joining in the community. Two great ways to do this are by joining the APG Forum (http://forums.flyafa.com/) and by joining in the most realistic aviation experience available by flying on the VATSIM network (http://www.vatsim.net). APG offers many events each month for our pilots to enjoy, check them out in the forums or visit http://www.flyafa.com/news/article.php?id=2441 for more information.
As a reminder to all pilots, please read through the Operation Manual if you haven’t yet done so. When you file flights, please do so in a logical order...departing only from the last airport you landed at, unless the flight was eligible for relaxed PIREP rules or you took advantage of our jumpseat provisions. When using those jumpseat provisions, however, you MUST make a note of it in your next flight report (in the comments section).
The month is going good so far, so keep up the good work guys.

Greetings Atlanta pilots!
I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend. Now I\'m looking forward to summer, with the sound of children playing, the feel of the sun on my face, and the smell of jet fuel and/or AVGAS in my nose as I do some plane watching at my local airport. Of course I\'m also looking forward to an active summer of flying for AFA Atlanta and hopefully meeting many of you on VATSIM and in our forums!
What a great month we had here in Atlanta! In every category our stats have shot up, delivering by far our best performance this year. Lets take a look.
Here are the May statistics:
Total Flights: 285
Flight Hours: 1092.46
Flown by 39 active pilots
Active Pilots: 42
Inactive Pilots: 4
LOA: 5
Terminated: 1
TOTAL: 52
New Pilots for May:
Ilona Palkevica
Ken Andover
Silvert Glarum
Daniel Kudi
Brad Davis
William Costen
Please join me in welcoming these new pilots to the Atlanta Hub and to AFA. Some of them have already started logging flights! Welcome guys, and keep up the good work.
Our promotions this month are:
Michael Moon (AFA2983) - to ATP Senior Captain
Brad Davis (AFA2979) - to ATP First Officer
Atamvir Multani (AFA2986) - to ATP Senior Captain
Norman Bowman (AFA2992) - to ATP Captain
Scott Glover (AFA2990) - to Captain
Congrats to all on your promotions!
Our Pilot of the Month award this month goes to a pilot who\'s been extremely active in flying, logging many long-haul flights this month for a whopping 236.39 total hours of flight time! Add to that the fact that this pilot is also very active on our forums and is flying some flights on VATSIM, and I\'m proud to announce that this month\'s POTM is Atamvir Multani, AFA2986! Congratulations Atamvir, and keep up the great work.
There are new charters being added all the time in the Charter Center, ranging from special training charters, to disaster relief, to scenic charters to small, rarely visited airports, and more. We will continue to work hard to provide you with interesting and fun new charters. If you see a charter you want to fly that has already been reserved, let us know and we\'ll make a new one for you. And always remember that you can request your own charters by contacting us by email or posting in the Atlanta Hub forum. So if you haven\'t yet done so, please visit our Charter Center at http://apg.flyafa.com/charter/ and have fun!
Speaking of the forum, I want to encourage all of you to join ours at http://forums.flyafa.com. It\'s free, only takes a few minutes to register, and is where you can not only get information on upcoming events, fleet issues, and other company business but also where you can interact with and get to know your fellow pilots. Its a great resource, with very professional and friendly members, and I\'d love to see all Atlanta pilots take advantage of it!
Now I want to take a minute to talk about VATSIM. If you want the most realistic flight simming experience possible, theres really no better way than by flying on VATSIM. Live ATC, using real world procedures and current real world SIDS/STARS, provide the best simming experience possible, and I encourage everyone who can to at least give it a try. If you need help getting set up with VATSIM or making that first online flight, feel free to contact me. We had some great events in May, and I had the pleasure of meeting our own Hub Director, Matt Radek, during the last VATSIM Sunday. Each week we have Friday Night Ops and VATSIM Sunday. Every other Tuesday we have HubTueHub, where we leave as a group and fly from one APG hub to another, chatting and learning from each other as we go. And there are also many special events, both domestic and international, which are announced in the VATSIM area of our forum, so be sure to look for them. I hope to share the virtual skies with you guys soon!
Now, a bit about me. First, thanks for all the notes congratulating me. I feel honored and excited to have a chance to serve AFA in general, and my fellow Atlanta pilots in particular. I can\'t claim years with this airline, or massive experience. What I do have is a love for AFA, and a desire to see the Atlanta Hub (and you, the Atlanta pilot) excel in all areas. I am here, as is Matt and Rich, to serve you, and I will work tirelessly to help you achieve your goals and advance your career as a virtual pilot. Whether you fly on VATSIM or choose to fly offline, each and every one of you are an important and valuable part of this Hub, and I want to thank you for making Atlanta your hub of choice. If you have questions or need help with anything, feel free to contact me at mwmoon.al@gmail.com.
