VATSIM Online Events for March 2012

VATSIM has released the list of online events for March 2012. AFA:LA is honored to host the following three events in our focus cities:
3/10: APG has scheduled a flight from Congonhas, Brazil (SBSP) to Sao Paolo, Brazil(SBRJ). Flight plans should be scheduled for departure at 1000Z/0500 USA EST from Congonhas.
3/25: The APG VATSIM Sunday event will be a scheduled arrival into Luis Munoz International (TJSJ). Aircraft should schedule their flights into TJSJ between 1700-1800Z EST / 2200-2300 GMT.
3/27 - APG hubTUEhub: Depart Luis Munoz International (TJSJ) in a VFR pattern around San Diego and return to TJSJ after group flight with other APG pilots. Departure time is scheduled for 2100EST/0200Z.
Pilots are reminded that all APG Endorsed Online Events are eligible for the relaxed PIREP rules which means you can fly these events and log the flight no matter where you are presently located. Also, as an added incentive to any Latin America hub pilot that logs time in any of these events, a 5 hour credit will be placed in your log book for each event participated. Flights must be online and verifiable via the Vataware website, or credits will not be issued. Contact the Chief Pilot for more information.

Latin America Awards and Recognitions

The entire Latin America team would like to recognize ATP Commander Alberto Bernaola as the February 2012 Pilot of the Month.
We would also like to congratulate Patrick Snow on his recent promotion to ATP Captain, and Will Hamilton on his promotion to Captain.
Congratulations to all these guys for their hard work in the month of February.
AFA: Latin America posts growth in February

AFA Latin America pilots posted a 217% increase in its number of flight segments flown in February, flying 89 more flights than in January. The number of online flight hours also remained virtually unchanged over the last month as well, with pilots posting almost 100 hours online.
Great job to the AFA Latin America pilots for their hard work and dedication to making Latin America a fast growing hub for the APG team!
