Welcome to the Washington DC Hub monthly report for April 2012.
HUB TOTALS:
Here is what the HUB looked like at the end of the month.
Total Flights – 193
Total Hours – 600
VATSIM Flights – 71
VATSIM Hours – 169
Thank-you for putting the hours in.
PILOTS:
Total Active: 28
New DC Hub Pilots:
No one new for April
CHARTERS:
We have still have some timing runs available to fly in the charter section. If everyone would fly just one of them then we could clean out the charter section in a month.
If there is a flight that you would like to fly that isn’t in the database then please do not hesitate to let me know what you want to fly so that I can create the charter for you.
VATSIM Events:
Please try to join us at the VATSIM events, they are a great place to meet your fellow pilots. You can attend these no matter where in the world you may happen to be at the time as well. You can file these flights with the relaxed PIREP rules.
On-Line flights:
Flying on VATSIM is an excellent place to meet other pilots, spread APG’s image across the web and be able to fly with live ATC on your route.
Forums:
Everyone has access to the forums, it would be nice to get to see you guys participate in the forums with your fellow HUB and airline pilots. The forums are full of all sorts of useful knowledge and if you can’t find it there you can post a topic and you will find that there is more than one pilot in APG that will help you out.
Pilot of the Month:
Please join me in congratulating our Pilot of the Month: AFA6823 Mario Bonilla
HUB Directors Desk:
Our number for this month are down, if all of us in this HUB can fly at least two flights a month or more we can bring our numbers up. I know that all of you can fly at least one flight a month so let’s please try and do our part for the HUB and the Airline.
Chief Pilot Position:
I am still looking for candidates for the Chief Pilot position. I am open to all individuals for this position so please don’t be shy, email me and we can discuss the position.

Fellow APG Pilots,
We here at DC like to promote a sense of team work as well as team spirit. So therefore I would like to announce a joint training program with PAY Europe. This training program is open to all pilots within APG and will be a place a learning, encouragement and enjoyment. The program is intended to run indefinitely with them and you can attend as many sessions as you would like. I have been in contact with the staff member that will be running this program and it sounds promising.
The program is still in the preparation stage and the schedule is still being worked on.
There is a poll at both the DC and PAY Europe forums to see who is interested in attending the training or who would like to offer there services.
There will be an email to follow in the next week or so with the details and a schedule.
See you in the great blue, keep the shiny side up and the rubber to the ground.
