Welcome to American Flight Airways-Australia!

AFA Australia is the Australian Division of American Flight Airways and has focus cities in Adelaide, Auckland (New Zealand), Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. These focus cities daily serve multiple destinations on the Australian mainland, Asia, and the South Pacific with continued international service to the US, Europe, and Latin America. Sydney is Australia's premier city, the oldest settlement in Australia, the economic powerhouse of the nation, and was the site of the summer Olympics in 2000. Australia counts as AFA's eighth hub and is the primary gateway for all APG pilots to Oceania.

VATSIM Group Flight - NZMC to NZHK - July 31st!
Posted by Rauldan Jaggernauth on July 27, 2010 at 3:34 PM MDT

7/31 - APG International Event - New Zealand
Mount Cook (NZMC) to Hokitika (NZHK)

We depart as a group from Mount Cook at 1000Z (8pm Australia EST, 3:30pm India IST, 11am UK BST, 6am USA EDT). "Possibly the most stunningly beautiful airport in New Zealand, built on alluvial flats surrounded by an amphitheatre of snow capped mountains."
Departing Mount Cook
After departure we fly south along the lake, turn to the Mount Mary VOR (RY), and then fly VFR together at 11,500ft towards the Hokitika NDB (HK) located 1.4nm from the Hokitika Airport.
This will be a short flight ideal for Cat 1 or 2 prop planes.

Distance: 115nm
Route: RY H307 HK
Airport Information: Click HERE for NZMC and HERE for NZHK

This is another good opportunity for pilots to get started flying on VATSIM - where we can relax and learn from each other in a casual environment - no stress!
